Thursday Trail Running (30 minutes)

Muddy cross country trail to paved to muddy gravel, back again the same way. Broke in my new running shoes. They felt pretty good.

Also - 30 minutes of yoga for flexibility. Trying to head off some stiff knee issues before they get worse.

The last hour was all standing up sparring and it kicked my butt. I'm totally counting that as my second workout for the day.

22 laps. Plus, an hour or so of grocery shopping. Really sore and tired from sparring with a bunch of scary muscley guys last night :P

Thursday MA Class (2 hours)

1 hour of drilling and learning new moves. 1 hour sparring (with 5 different guys, and I am covered in bruises). Also practiced basic hip throws for awhile.

Thursday Trail Running (30 minutes)

On the "hard trail". Need to work on my cardio! My legs were sore from the fast reps I did yesterday, but I definitely was huffing and puffing more than I should have been.

Friday Strength Workout (1 hour)

Did all the stuff. Remembered abs. Had to take it slow because I was sore from the MA class last night.

Thursday MA Class (2 hours)

I worked with techniques on the floor for the first hour, and then mostly sparring the last 45-60 minutes or so (floor sparring, grappling, which is like wrestling). Sparring is a lot like wind sprints to me. 5 minutes high intensity, 5 minutes rest, repeat for an hour.

3 sets of pull ups, 3 sets of hard push ups, dead lifts, sumo dead lifts (120lb bar), calf raises, chair dips, and ab work.
