Friday Trail Running 55 minutes
The #2, 5, & 6 trails. Horseflies and mud again. I also loaded up the van for trip, which was 1/2 hour of strength work right there ;)

Wednesday Trail Running 1 hour
Still muddy, but less so. Also- less spiderwebs and the horseflies annoyed me less since I wore a hat.

Tuesday JM 30 DS + Extras 35 minutes
JM with 10 lb weights and the extras with the 20 lb weights. My shoulders are pretty angry at me about all the stuff. We have so much more to do this week to to get ready for vacation!
Walking....
Yesterday was walking, walking, and more walking. And then, just to round it off, more walking! We went shopping (STILL didn't find everything I need, I have to do more today), and then at Jonni's swim meet I was the starter's assistant. Which meant that I walked up and down the length of the pool for 78 events! We combined some of the events, but some were one length events, some were two, some were four, ect. Lots and lots and LOTS of walking. My. Foot. Hurts. I swear, it's going to fall off. I don't know how I'm going to dance at this wedding. I guess I'll just have to be fabulous eye candy instead.

Monday Running 3 miles (40 minutes)
Actually I have no idea how long it took. That was a guess. I spent two hours fixing our mower today which took something out of me.
Saturday
Saturday was, dare I say it? Hell. That's what it was. I spent 7 HOURS in the mall looking for the things I need for the wedding. My foot is STILL swollen. And I have more I have to do today. Ugh.
On the sunny side, I lost a couple of pounds last week. When I wasn't paying particular attention to my points or anything, but trying to be mindful of my portions. So, when I do really well on my points, I gain 4 pounds. When I throw in the towel and say, "I have too much stress right now, I'll worry about this later", I lose 2 lbs. What the what, body?! Make up your mind!!

Saturday Trail Running 1 hour
While being chased by horseflies, clearing spider webs, and slipping in the mud. It was not such a fun run today. I also skipped my 3rd strength workout of the week to spend 3-4 hours yesterday and today (total) to teach myself how to change the oil and drain the transmission fluid, which saved us about $200. My arms are totally trashed, so I know it was a good strength workout.
Thursday/Friday
Thursday ended up not being a shopping day because I was freaking tired, the kids were freaking tired, and we all just needed a day off. So we took one.
I did, however, go on a 10ish minute walk with John and the dogs after the kids went to bed. We were trying to get Pippin to poo because his belly was so bloated, so I also ran around in the back yard with him. Not the wisest choice. My toe was not happy.
Yesterday was supposed to be another shopping day, but with Pippin going to vet and figuring out that the bloatedness was actually part of a heart problem, I couldn't leave him yesterday.
So that means that today is going to be a colossal marathon shopping day because it is my last opportunity before we leave for Texas next week. Bother. Tonight when I get home will be filled with elevated feet, ice packs, and a movie.

Thursday Running 1 hour
About 15 minutes on pavement and 45 minutes on trail. The display at Walgreens said 94 degrees about 20 minutes before I went running. Heat training! Because the best way to get used to running in the heat is well, to run in the heat!
Wednesday
Yesterday was more walking and shopping, this time for kids' wedding clothes. (Btw, JcPenny's is THE place for little boy Sunday clothes. A little pricey, but the quality! The selection! Also, in case you wanted to know, Kohl's is having an outrageously good sale on little girl dresses right now. Some of the cutest dresses for like $12.) Then I did more walking when I was volunteer for Erik's cub scout camp yesterday. Today, I have big time sausage toe/foot, and it hurts. And I have so much more I need to do! Ugh, I'm sick of shopping. And I love shopping! So that tells you something right there.

Wednesday Swimming 50 minutes
I swam 35 laps (1 mile). This clothes line business is hard on the arms! 3 loads in two days and it takes about 20 minutes to hang a load. I should be buff for the beach and Disney World at the end of the month though, lol.
Wednesday JM 30DS 25 minutes
I skipped the "extras" because my arms were too sore from all the clothes line laundry this week :P I'm hoping to do a short swim later.
Tuesday
I did go grocery shopping yesterday, and what's more, I was on a deadline, so I had to step it up as much as I could. We did make our deadline, and my foot was pretty sore afterward.
It was such a hot day yesterday that we all went to the pool, and I did a few laps. My earlier prediction about how horrible I would be? I was pretty much right. I did a little better than I thought I would, but not much, really. I was able to do, I think, 3 or maybe 4 laps, with breaks at each length. I'm sore today, so that counts, right? ;)

Keepin' On
Last week after the Great Dress Hunt, and walking all over the mall on Thursday, I did a repeat with the Great Suit Hunt for John on Friday. It wasn't as bad though, being much easier to find a black suit than a specific color dress in Jonni's size. However, that was more walking around the mall, and by Saturday I was in agony. So I stayed off the blasted foot for the most part on Saturday, (we did go to the pool), and altogether on Sunday. Did a tiny bit of walking around Jonni's swim meet yesterday, and I'm sore again today. I will probably do a little walking at, say, the grocery store, but nothing more than that today.

Friday JM 30DS + Extras (35 minutes)
Plus, yard sales with the kids where my 4 yr old sucked away all my energy with her devilish ways ;)
Blargh
So, it has not been a good time for Liz. My toe has been broken for going on 18 weeks, and just. Will. Not. Heal. We're at about 75% at this time. I just saw my podiatrist on Monday.
That means I have been sitting on my rear for almost 18 weeks. I haven't even been able to drive because it's on my right foot. All that tone and muscle I worked so hard to get? All that endurance that was painstakingly built? All of the physical health that was painfully gathered over years of work? Gone. We are back at zero once again and I AM ANGRY.
My foot doc says though that part that IS healed is very strong and in no danger of re-breaking. I can now slowly start to crawl my way back to normal activity, which for me means all my working out! I can start with walking for a couple of weeks, then maybe biking, ect ect. Very slowly because we are still not fully healed. If I'm not any farther forward in two months, or I can't tolerate shoes (there is quite a bit of deviation with this one, it sticks out a lot), then surgery is then the only option.
That being the situation, and having much much much to do (and ado!) with the upcoming Trent and Evonne wedding and receptions, I have been doing my walking while shopping. Yesterday it was a dress for me and a bridesmaid dress for Jonni. Lots of walking in the mall. Maybe a bit too much, as I have swollen sausage foot today. So, I was going to do decorating shopping, but now I'm instead going to put the foot up to get the swelling and pain to go away. But at least I can do some walking, and!, the all important driving. (Mobility! Yes!) Also, I think I can get enough flexion in my foot to do some swimming. (even though I'm feeling very self conscious about being in a suit, and about doing laps under the eyes of those oh so hot lifeguards having lost as much ground as I have. Can you say gasping, struggling-to-finish-one-length, awful technique, all around terrible swimmer, folks? Yep. That will be me.)
And a huge apology to Timpani for not reading this blog much at all. I've been hugely depressed at the amount of limitation I've had, and even thinking about this blog sent me into black dispair. I'm determined to pull myself up by my boot straps though, so I will start looking on you as the inspiration you are from now on. :)

Saturday Trail Running 45 minutes
I wanted to go for a long run today, but it started pouring down rain about 15 minutes before I got started. I did pretty good on a muddy trail and only had to put my hand down once.
