First day running
I have been walking for over a month now so I think I am strong enough to start running. I made it 1/2 a mile and then I walked for 2 miles. The run in the beginning kept my heart rate above 130 for the whole walk. The only bad thing is that I have been starving ever sense. I will have to be careful not to pig out and send all of my hard work down the drain.

WOOHOO! GREAT START TO YOUR RUNNING PROGRAM!!!
I don't know if you got back on the blog that far, but we had a big discussion on how important lean protein is to build muscle and feed our bodies. Matt figured out that I need 65 (minimum) to 130 protein grams a day. The minimum is just to maintain muscle, and obviously to build muscle it requires more.
I basically just drink a protein shake after I run or workout (25-30 grams of protein) and that usually sends me over the 65 a day minimum that I need.
