Wednesday Strength Workout + Exercise Bike 50 minutes total

Exercise Bike- 25 minutes

Strength workout- 25 minutes (including Week 1 Day 2 of the hundred push ups challenge).

Tuesday Kickboxing 40 minutes, Walking with the kids 2 hours

I did two workouts off of the Caribbean Workout Kickboxing with Shelly McDonald.

Also, walked with two kids in the double stroller for over an hour (to the school, and then the park) and then another 50 minutes to get home from the park.

Monday Strength 30 minutes Running 40 minutes (3 miles with one BIG hill) 1 hour 10 minutes total

I kicked that big hill's butt! The last 4 times I've had to walk the last 20-30 feet, but not this time. Woot!

Strength- 15 minutes of arms with 10 lb free weights and Day 1 Week 1 of the hundred push ups program. 15 minutes of abs (with standing abs, and floor work including the 200 crunches).

Also- had to deal with a very cranky baby all day! She was such a grump I pretty much was not able to get anything else done today :(

Saturday Running 40 minutes (3 miles with one BIG hill)

Pretty good time for hitting that big hill. Plus, I had to slow down for no less than FIVE dogs who scared the poop out of me. It was probably because I had to wait until 8pm at night to run again. Man! This was just not my week to try to get in a day time run. I'm scoping out yard sales for a running stroller so I can get more runs in during the day.

Friday- I meant to do another strength workout, but I ended up replacing two large window panes and yard saleing for 2-3 hours with the kids. I was too tired after all that to do a strength workout. Plus, I cut my hand pretty bad getting out a large piece of old window so I was not sure how well I would have been able to do weights anyway.

Thursday Running 40 minutes (3 miles FLATS)

I had to wait until 8pm to run because my mom was out of town and could not watch the kids. I was pretty tired from yard work.

Also- big shovel for 1/2 hour, and weeding (including about a million prickly cockle burrs!) for 1 hour.

Pooped now, going to bed ;)

For Super Dave

I hope you all allow me to take a small space here to dedicate to a friend, Dave Bauer. Nearly two weeks ago, Team Alton (my running group) lost one of our favorite members. Dave was in his 50s, and he was a really great guy. I can't stress how completely, unbelievably, unexpected this was! You really couldn't have asked to meet a nicer person than Dave. We are still in shock. Apparently he was taking anti-depressants, and they made him sleepy. He feel asleep while he was at work, and got caught sleeping on the job. He lost his job, blamed his meds, and abruptly quit taking them. The imbalance sent him into a spiraling depression, and he shot himself.

We miss him with every running step. All I can say is folks, be CAREFUL about taking these kinds of drugs! The commercials for them even warn about this kind of stuff. Anyone who knew Dave would have NEVER EVER thought he would do something like this. It is so tragic! It truly scares me how ready doctors are to write prescriptions for these kinds of medicines, and how ready people are to just take them. I'm sure there are cases where they are really needed, but I wish that it could be given more CAREFUL consideration, before the doctors even pick up that pen.

Monday: Ran "hills" with the boys. 4 miles. Don't tell the guys, but their version of hills ...??? I'd better not say too much; it seems like tempting fate.

Tuesday: Biked with Godzilla 19 miles. I felt good.

Thursday: Ran 6 miles with the group. I felt darn good.

I'm feeling really great these days. It's time to up the anti! Got to keep this momentum going.

Wednesday Exercise Bike + Strength Workout (50 minutes)

Exercise bike- 25 minutes
Abs- 15 minutes (standing abs, plus floor work with 200 crunches)
Arms- 10 minutes (with 10 lb free weight)

I also did the initial test for the 100 push ups program (6 week program). I could only do 5 in a row, so obviously I need to work on this! I will be starting the program on Monday.

Monday Strength Workout 25 minutes (LATER) Running 35 minutes (2 1/2 miles with one BIG hill)

I did the strength workout earlier in the day. 15 minutes abs (standing abs + floor work with 100 crunches included) and 10 minutes arms with 10lb free weights.

Running- The big hill was kicking my butt today. I also did 3 minutes of shoeless running.

Friday & Saturday

Friday: Biked 40 minutes on the trainer

Saturday: Ran about 6 miles including 5 loops on my super hilly block. Also we met John & Co. at Cahokia Mounds. John, Bruce, Lydia & I raced to the top of Monk Mound. I came in dead last, but I did run the entire way up the thing.

I love yoga for tension release!

I wanted to go running today, but I've been exposed to a ton of dust over the last couple days and it has made me feel really tired and run down.

Thursday Running 1 hour

I think I was hitting about a 12 minute mile pace, so I ran about 5 miles. Woot! I totally was not expecting to pull that run out of my hat today! I ran on the Watershed Nature Center trail again. I will now refer to it as the "Magic Nature Trail" from now on ;)

Wednesday Biking 55 minutes

I pushed myself pretty hard for my second time out and hit some big hills (well they felt big on a bike anyway). It was hard biking for the first 30 minutes or so, and then I let myself cool down on some flats for the last half of the ride. Still tons of fun!

Wednesday

Well, I did NOT do the bike ride last night. I just decided that I wanted to stay home with my kiddos. Good thing too. Bruce went to the team meeting afterward, and didn't get home till after nine o'clock.

Today I got up and ran with Bruce. We did a fast, hilly 4 miles.

Tuesday Running 40 minutes (2 1/2 miles FLATS)

Slow tired run today. I guess I was still tired from cleaning out the basement all weekend?

Saturday & Tuesday

Saturday was of course the big race. I kicked booty! The weather was good, I felt good, it all shaped up perfect. I took 3 minutes off my P.R. I was hoping to take off 1:30 off, so I was STOKED that I doubled that!!

Monday I was ... not lazy, I did lots of housework, but I didn't work out.

It's now Tuesday. I ran with the group this morning. I got there a little late, so I missed part of the run. I'd guess I ran 5.25 miles. I am also planning on riding with the Zillas tonight. I'll probably do around 20 miles.

Plus 2 minutes of shoeless running.

Also- cleaned the house for 1 1/2 hours.

ETA- got my backing up sewer drain cleaned later in the day, so I used the energy from running to clean the poop covered basement for 2 hours. Plus 7 loads of laundry (and that's just a start! I still have at least 10 more to go).

Thursday Biking 50 minutes

I haven't been on my mountain bike in YEARS. Today was the perfect day for a bike ride too. I avoided all hills though, just to take it easy my first time out bike riding in awhile. My bottom held up really well (probably because of using the exercise bike). It was so much fun! I have no idea how many miles I biked. I was just meandering all over EA, WR, and a little into Rxn.

Wednesday Running 30 minutes (2 1/2 miles)

I also did 2 minutes of shoeless running. My feet are not feeling stronger/better but my ankles feel much stronger. I will keep it up just for the ankle strengthening benefits.

Also- walked with the kids for 1 1/2 hours (about 3 miles) and pulled weeds for 45 minutes. What a gorgeous day! I could not get enough of it.

Tuesday Exercise Bike + Arms 40 minutes

Exercise Bike- 30 minutes (with 2 swatting flies chest exercise sessions). Arms- with 10lb free weights 10 minutes.

Finally started feeling "all better" Sunday night.

Monday- walked around the zoo while carrying the baby in the sling for 3 hours. It was a great day for it!

Monday & Tuesday Thus Far

Monday: Swam 900+ meters

Tuesday: So far I've run 6 miles with the group. I am also planning to ride with Team Godzilla this evening. I'm feeling so good, it's making me nervous for the weekend. Must knock on wood!
