Monday Running 80 minutes (6 miles while pushing the jogging stroller)

I finally ran 6 miles while pushing the jogging stroller! It felt so good and S was SUPER good. I honestly can't remember the last time she was that good. It might have been because I got out of the house early, so she finished her breakfast for the first 30 minutes. Plus, I ran on the trail that starts on Bluff Rd (by the church with the white steeple) and goes through the college, and then behind the "new" high school, and then finally through Esic. I ran into Melody S. around Esic while she was out exercising on the trail too. Anyway, that trail has lots of people, dogs, bike, etc. to keep S distracted so I was glad I decided to go with a "new" trail while I attempted another long run while pushing the jogging stroller.

ETA- also did 1 hour of yard work + house work

Saturday Trail Running 55 minutes

I took yesterday off to do yard sales all day. I ran on the really flat dirt trail today on SIUE property (in my Nikes, not my Vibrams). I decided to save the paved part of the watershed for when I have jogging stroller on Mon or Tues. I found a mountain bike for myself at the yard sales yesterday! I saved myself about $200. I blew the money for Big E and I's date, and had to take money out of savings for the date. I figured overall, it was worth the $30 for my bike, plus the $20 for a bike for V. With finding V a bike, I probably saved more like $300 overall. I wish it wasn't raining because I want to try the bike out (despite already running today, ha ha).

Exercise Bike + Strength (60 minutes)

45 minutes on the exercise bike, 5 minutes with 10 lb free weights (and squats, lunges, etc, ala JM), and 10 minutes of abs (including 200 crunches mixed in).

ETA- also did 1 hour of yard work (mostly weeding)

Also- 30 minutes of gardening, 30 minutes of housecleaning. My shoulder appears to be better now. Woo hoo!

Plus, maybe 15 minutes of yard work. I'm trying to give my right shoulder a break since it is still hurting pretty badly. I'm not sure I did ONE thing to it, so much as I did EVERYTHING to it within a short period of time.

Mostly on the paved part of the watershed trail, with 10 minutes down a dirt path off the paved part. Nothing else due to a horrible pain in my right shoulder. Go away pain!

I'm trying to "take it easy" the rest of today since I overdid it on Monday and made myself sick. When am I going to realize I'm not superwoman? ;)

ETA- Oops! I also went walking with the kids for over an hour. It was so beautiful today, I couldn't resist.

Monday Swimming 50 minutes

I'm guessing the 2 1/2 hours of yard work I did today was a little too much, because I was not able to get my whole hour of swimming done.

In other better news, I finally lost that last TWO POUNDS last week I have been trying to get off for 4-5 months! WOOT! I hope to lose more this week. I think all of the yard work I did last week, and hope to do this week, will give me that extra "push" I need to lose more of this stubborn weight ;)

This Week in Weight Loss

Okay, so I hate my freaking body!! UGH! Another week, nothing lost. So I'm taking two days off the diet. That's always worked in the past. I was down 23 lbs, now I'm only down 20, and for crying out loud! I've been doing everything PERFECT. I'm going to have to buy new freaking swimsuits for the vacation at the end of May.
I can't work out because my toe hates me. (and I hate it back!!) I'm going to see my doctor on Tuesday, and we will go over all these issues. I need to have my toe better so I can work out!
I'm so frustrated right now, I could just SCREAM.
On the upside, I'm putting together a playlist of my very own, and I will probably post it on here. Any requests?

It was a very flat trail, so not as much fun as usual. But, it was probably the only trail I would have been able to run in the rain today.

Friday Exercise bike + 10 lb free weights strength 45 minutes total

I did 40 minutes on the bike, and 5 minutes of work with the 10 lb free weights at the 20 minute mark. I mixed arm weights work with squats and kicks, ala Jillian Michaels.

Plus, 45 minutes of yard work done in the nick of time before the rain started. Booyah!

Thursday Running 35 minutes (3 miles of Big hills)

I decided that I missed the hills by Renae's house enough to drive 5 minutes to run them. I ran them for 3 miles too! Woot! Record for hills!

I think I will have to skip my strength workout with Jillian Michaels tomorrow too since my right ankle is still a bit cranky. I also did an hour of big shovel yard work earlier today, so hopefully that will count for something in the strength workout department ;)

Wednesday Running 50 minutes (while pushing the jogging stroller)

S was mildly grumpy for the run. I found a side trail while we were out running on the watershed paved trail. I was so happy because it was actually big enough for the jogging stroller. Then, towards the end, I'm trying to get the jogging stroller over a big log, and I fall. That is only the second time I've fallen while out running. Thank goodness for the five point harness in the jogging stroller! S was not hurt at all, and I just knocked my right side a little on the log, mostly my right hip/upper leg. I wanted to cry, until I realized that S was perfectly ok. The falling while lifting the stroller really scared me though. Other than that, it was a really good run;)

I also went walking with the kids for an hour.

OH yes, I did work out again today! And I went tanning! (in preparation for going to the beach) So I am on a supercharged high, lol! 20 min again alternating elliptical and bike. Toe still couldn't handle more than that, curse it! But I'll take it!

So, I didn't post last week. I was bummed. I gained three pounds! I didn't lose any this week either. I think if I still haven't lost anything next week, I'll take a few days off from the diet and see what happens. At this rate, however, I'm not going to fit my swimsuits before vacation time gets here, and I'll be the fattest I've ever been on a beach. I'll be a whale on the beach!! I am utterly depressed about this.
So, toe feeling better, I thought I'd try to give myself an edge, and worked out today. 20 minutes alternating elliptical and bike. I had to stop at twenty not because I was too wiped to go on, but because the freaking toe couldn't handle any more. It's taking it's sweet time to heal! Much longer than any other broken bone I've had in the past. My hypotheses are that 1) it wasn't set right and so therefore didn't heal right (very possible as I didn't have it set at all, not having had any other broken toes set before and been fine), or 2) I'm just getting older. (also imminently possible, although I did get carded on a girls' night a little over a week ago, and she didn't believe my licence was real at first either, lol! but looks aside....) I could have gone another ten minutes I think, but couldn't. Frustrating!!
(totally off-topic, but John and I have been watching Star Trek: TNG, and I just watched some interviews with the cast, and I don't think there is anything sexier than Patrick Stewart's accent. That is all.)

Saturday Trail Running 50 minutes

Honeysuckle everywhere! In fact, most of the trail smelled so wonderful because of the honeysuckles. The tall phlox started blooming too (ground flower). It was beautiful in shades of blue, purple, and pink.

Also- ran alongside V & Q trying to teach them how to ride a bike for an hour. Whew! That is a workout in itself!

Friday Exercise Bike

I also got my strength workout by unloading 1000 pounds of top soil, dirt amendments, and potting soil. The Ace Hardware guy who loaded the stuff did the math for me because he was awesome ;) I did hours of yard work after the unloading. I also swam with the kids for an hour. I'm not actually sure how I managed to do the exercise bike workout after the kids went to bed, but I did! Because I'm just that cool ;)

Monday Running Hills 2 1/2 miles (32 minutes)

One Big hill, and one Steep hill. I did better than I have done before on those hills. Hopefully, I will get to where I can run them more than once each! It was about 1 1/2 miles of hills, and 1 mile of flats.

Monday JM 30 Day Shred Workout 2 with 10 lb free weights(25 minutes)

Monday is my usual swim day, but with my car in the shop I was not sure it would work out tonight :P

I keep going back to Workout 2 because it just seems like the best strength workout of the 3 on the DVD (with the 10 lb free weights).

Also- about 30 minutes of yard work.

Alright, so I didn't post much last week, so here is the whole week:

Monday: Jillian Shred it with weights, workout 1 (blah)

Tuesday am: 7.25 mile hill run with group VERY VERY HILLY
Tuesday pm: 20 mile bike ride with group

Wednesday: Nothing

Thursday: 6 mile run with group

Friday: Jillian Shred it with Weights, workout 2 - better
also walked to the library and back about 5 miles

Saturday: 13 mile run, about 9 minute miles

Monday: Kettlebell Boot Camp with Angie Miller - good stuff, if you have the time.
