Friday Exercise Bike/ Marching in Place/ Standing Ab Work 50 minutes

30 minutes exercise bike (ouch bottom, ouch a lot), 10 minutes marching in place, 10 minutes standing abs and "swatting the flies" chest exercise (3 minutes on that).

Almost forgot!- I spent 2 hours going through more baby clothes and fixing up the nursery (including scooting around some furniture, and going up and down stairs to get baby stuff from the basement to the 2nd floor).

Thursday Strength Workout/ Running in Place/ Marching in Place 45 minutes

Strength workout- 30 minutes, running in place 10 minutes, 5 minutes marching in place.

Tuesday- Moved furniture & toys around for 4 hours to get QQ set up in Vance's room. One more pre-baby project out of the way!

Wednesday- recovered from Tuesday! Plus, I went to the temple (another thing I wanted to do before the baby is born!).

Thursday

Ran 6 miles with the group.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Wednesday

abs, upper body and stupid stairs for 40 minutes. Drat I hate winter.

Monday Swimming 1 hour

Swimming felt AWESOME again. 15 minutes breast stroke, 15 minutes freestyle, 20 minutes back stroke, 10 minutes kick board.

I did nothing else today, but mostly because I spent 2 hours on Sunday moving books from other book cases to our NEW book case that we got from this nice lady at church. My back was not having anymore funny stuff today because of that. I also decided to get really industrious and organize them by author.

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Saturday

I ran 10.7 miles with my FIL and two brothers and a couple of other people. AND though my hip was getting tight on the run, it feels fine today. YAY!

Friday, January 22, 2010

Friday Exercise Bike/ Marching in Place/ Some Stairs 45 minutes

30 minutes exercise bike, 15 minutes marching in place (interrupted three times by having to run up and down the stairs, see the kids blog for more details). Feeling lots better today, I guess the antibiotics are doing their job?

Also, did some minor fix up stuff upstairs for 30 minutes (ceiling drywall mudding, changing a hard to reach light bulb, etc).

Four Weeks and a Day

That's my new record. Why am I not still counting you ask? Because I'm sick today. And really sore, but I like being sore. It means I did something. I just hope I get well soon so I can do it again without losing what I've gained.

Thursday Strength Workout/ Running in Place 30 minutes

Running in place 15 minutes, strength 15 minutes. I did not muster the energy to workout until 7pm, and then I could only do half a workout. I hate strep throat and antibiotics!

I also sat on the floor and fixed a cheap piece of poop dresser/changing table for an hour this morning. Still, .97 cents in hardware and some sweat were cheaper than buying a whole new dresser for the baby. Another pre-baby project out of the way!

Strength Training and a Little Cardio--20 min.

Okay, I have an itsy bitsy cough. Other than that, I'm totally fine, but cardio makes me hack like a smoker, so I've avoided it this week. However, since I do feel fine in all other aspects, I can't just sit around getting fat and letting my heart and the rest of my body rot, so I did some other stuff today, really focusing the most on my legs, since I need to balance them, and the one is beyond weak. What's the best way to strengthen bones Renae? Weight training, lol! I don't want another broken leg anytime soon.
I ran up and down my stairs for two minutes, rested for three, and did another minute. How the *bleep* do you do that for forty frackin' minutes, Renae! Oi!
Then I did....calve lifts, I guess? When you hang your heels off of a step and roll up on the balls of your feet? I did 15 of those for three sets.
I did my thighs with our weight machine thingy downstairs. 12 reps at 21.1 lbs for three sets.
I did 10 pushups on my stairs, almost like wall pushups, but with a little more incline, for a two sets.
I did 6 tricep pushups on my stairs for a set of two.
All of it took about twenty minutes.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Monday Swimming 1 Hour

breast stroke- 15 minutes, freestyle- 15 minutes, back stroke 20 minutes, kick board 10 minutes. The bigger I get, the better swimming feels!

Plus, 45 minutes of grocery shopping with two kids, 30 minutes of yard work (shoveling in the compost pile to move things around and picking up fallen sticks in the yard), and 15 minutes of cleaning.

Biking

20 minutes at 13.5-14 mph for a total of 4.4 miles covered.

Saturday

40 minutes on the bike

Saturday Walking/Running and then Yoga (1 hour 5 minutes total)

I only ran 1/2 mile. I was not going to run anymore due to sciatica/pelvic pain, but I changed my mind. I found some simple exercises that are supposed to help re-align your pelvis, and I hope those help. Hopefully, once or twice a week for a little energy will be ok. I then walked 1 1/2 miles for 35 minutes total.

30 minutes of Crunch Yoga Mama (I reviewed it a few months ago, and re-ordered it from the library). Wow, Yoga is getting way harder now that I am big!

Cleaning Workout!

I cleaned my house for 45 minutes, while dancing to upbeat music. Totally wiped out now, lol!

Thursday Exercise Bike/ Marching in Place 45 minutes

Exercise bike- 30 minutes, marching in place 15 minutes.

No extra stuff today, too blah.

Taking Out Some Frustration

Much better today, but I had a lot of stress to work out. ;P 30 minutes at 12.5-14 mph, and for the last thirty seconds, I kicked it up to 17 mph for a total of 6.4 miles covered.
The Almighty Liz

Thursday

6 miles with the group. 9 minute pace. Crap a dog, it was hard! I had a hard time keeping up with folks that I used to be able to pummel. That's what happens when you take a couple of months off while everyone else keeps plugging away. Oh well, I'll get it back - if my hip lets me. It's a little mad at me today.

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Wednesday Strength Workout/ Running in Place 45 minutes

Strength workout- 30 minutes, running in place- 15 minutes.

Plus 1 1/2 hours of standing up (taking a break every half hour) while organizing my file folder with hanging folders I bought. Another pre-baby project out the way! Woot!

Householdy Type Workout

My basement is flooded again, and my cat peed aaaaaaaaaall over one of my couches, so I spent a good hour scrubbing that down. Seriously, this week has broken the needle on my Crap-O-Meter.

Tuesday Walking 45 minutes

With a stroller in the snow, since I left my stupid lights on again and had to walk to Vance's school to go get him. 2 miles total.

Bike-20 Minutes

Not so well today. Only twenty minutes at 11.5-12 mph for a total of 3.9 miles covered. Just exhausted for some stupid reason.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Monday Swimming 1 hour

15 minutes breast stroke, 20 minutes back stroke, 15 minutes freestyle, 10 minutes kick board. I was sluggish on the back stroke, but I rocked at freestyle! Zoom zooom.

I also grocery shopped for an hour today with a three year old. I am still sore from changing the light and cleaning closets, but I so want to do more of my projects around the house! I'll keep you posted ;)

Erk!

Well, I was going to post about Saturday's workout in conjunction with today's, so it didn't look so wimpy, but my basement if flooded in sewer water, making it rather difficult to even get to my trusty bike. Bother.
So, Saturday was just four hours of errand running, most of which consisted of The Great Search for Boots. (see The Wonderful World of Liz for more details) I was shaking with weariness and my recently healed broken leg was one huge mass of cramps at the end of it, so I counted it as good.
The Almighty Liz

Monday

I ran 6 miles with the group, at about a 9 minute pace. It's soooo good to be back outside running!

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Saturday

40 minutes on that accursed bike.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Cleaning Linen Closets/Changing Light Fixture 2-3 hours

It was definitely not aerobic, but I am sore and exhausted like I have not been since gardening season ended so I am totally counting it! Plus, I must brag more about changing out that ugly old florescent lighting fixture in my son's room that has been bugging me for 7 YEARS! The new one looks sooooo pretty! And, I did it all by myself!

Friday Strength Workout/ Running in Place 45 minutes

I did the full on strength workout for arms and legs, and then also some standing abs work (35 minutes total) and running in place (10 minutes).

Fourth Day this Week!!

Three cheers for Liz! Hooray, hooray, hooray!!
I skipped yesterday because I was beyond tired for some stupid reason (stress, much?), and slept like all day. Today, I came back strong with 30 minutes at 11.5-12.5 mph for a total of 6 miles covered. Oh, yeah, baby!
Er. Do any of you ladies have any ideas on strength workouts for legs that will help me to balance them out? The one I broke is ridiculously weaker than the other one, and it's throwing my hips and back way out, in addition to being cramping like a million charley horses all day. I'm on meds for the cramping and nerve pain, but I would love to get off them. Sick sick SICK of taking a million different medications everyday. Thanks girls!

Thursday Running in Place/ Marching in Place 45 minutes

Running in place 25 minutes, marching in place 20 minutes (plus 5 minutes of yoga stretching cool down to loosen my back up).

Still not totally back up to previous energy levels, and I feel like I could sleep 12 hours a day, but still getting better!

Thursday

I am so trying to fight off the winter lazies! Today I actually did abs, and an upper body weight routine, then I ran 30 minutes of stairs. When is Spring?

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Wednesday Exercise Bike/ Marching in Place 45 minutes

30 minutes on the exercise bike, 15 minutes marching in place.

Still feeling blah today, but getting better. I also ran around the house getting bedding together and finding more cups to sanitize and wash.

Yesterday and Today

Still doing well with the bike. Dang, I just cannot tell you guys how GOOD if feels just to be doing something again! Today also marks two weeks that I've been well! A new record for the past two years! Yay! On to business;
Yesterday I was a little slower because I was dang sore, so 9.5-10 mph for a total of thirty minutes and 4.9 miles covered.
Today, a little faster, feeling better, 10.5-11 mph for a total of thirty minutes and 5.3 miles covered.

Strength/Running in Place 30 minutes

Running in place- 10 minutes, strength 20 minutes.

It was kind of a "blah" workout since I am still feeling really tired from strep throat and antibiotics, and taking care of the two sick kids with antibiotics. I also ran around the house finding all cups and toothbrushes to sanitize them in vinegar and run them through the dishwasher.

Monday, January 4, 2010

And We're Back to Biking!

I did THIRTY MINUTES today! It just felt so dang good to be back on the stinkin' thing! I didn't go fast or anything like that, and it was on the lowest tension setting and stuff, but still! I think after months of hiatus, that's pretty darn good! *liz pats herself on the back* So, stats;
30 minutes at 9.5-10.5 mph for a total of 5.1 miles covered. BOOYAH!

wuioer

Tuesday I biked 40 minutes on the trainer. Yesterday I ran 6 miles. My hip hurts a little. But hey guess what, I found $4.10 in change in the middle of the road. It was a profitable run!
