Nice to Have Company Again

Yay, Renae's back, and Timpani is dropping in for visits!
I did twenty minutes of dancing today, and I'm getting better, which means I'm getting more of a workout, yowza! lol! Also, yesterday was a weigh day, and I lost two more pounds!! That's SIX total in the last couple of weeks!!! So, emboldened by this, I measured too, and I've lost three inches off my waist, and two off my hips!! BOOYAH!!

I ran with the group 5.5 miles. I was planning on doing eight, but I had to skip a loop in search of the closest bathroom. Note to self, don't pig out on mixed nuts the day before a run. Too much fiber in my system. It was almost bad.

Catching Up

I don't remember when the last time I posted was. My hip is giving me problems again, well the other one. DARN IT! I'm going to Tim Johnson, the chiropractor from our stake, today to see if he can fix me. Anyway, while I have not been running much in the past week and a half, I haven't been completely inactive. The last time I really ran was a week ago Saturday and I quit at 6.5 miles because my hip was aggravated. I walked one day last week with the kids in the stroller, but I can't remember how far we went. I think it was only about 3.5 miles. I biked on the trainer for 40 minutes on Friday. I biked on the trainer for 29 minutes and then ran about 2 - 2.5 hilly miles with John on Saturday. Yesterday I biked with the group, and I feel like I did really well. We adjusted my bike before I took off and good news, my back didn't hurt this time. (The last time on that bike felt like back labor quite literally. I think it's connected with my hip problems, the ouchy places are where my hips pull from. Does that make sense?) Anyway, I had a good, pain free ride and I think I did myself proud. I love biking! I did 19 miles at about 17.5 mph and it was windy. I actually tried drafting for the first time. It makes a HUGE difference, especially in the wind.

Strength Training

It took me about twenty minutes today.
Push-ups: stairs, 3 sets at 12 reps each.
Calves: 3 sets at 12 reps each.
Triceps: weights, around 4.5 lbsish, 3 sets at 12 reps each.
Quads: 33.2 lbs, 3 sets at 12 reps each.

I did 25 min. of biking, slightly faster, 13.5-14 mph and 15 for the last two minutes for a total of I think 5.7 miles covered, but I can't really remember. I totally hate exercising on Mondays, in case there's still someone out there that hasn't caught on.

All Alone in the World....

Well, with Timpani MIA with her new bundle of joy, and Renae taking the week off because her other hip is bothering her now, I sorta feel like I'm talking to myself. But I will soldier on! Yes, because it's the principle of the thing, lol!
I did 25 min. on the bike today, a little slower because I'm inexplicably exhausted, so 13ish mph for a total of 5.4 miles covered.
I didn't work out yesterday because of the tiredness.
The Weight Watchers is WORKING!!! Today was a weigh day, and I've lost four pounds, woohoo!! I've been doing it only a week too! Huzzah for me!!

Saturday and Monday

Saturday I did 25 min on the bike at 13-13.5 mph, but slightly slower, so closer to 13 than 13.5, for a total of 5.5 miles covered.
Today I did strength training.
Pushups: 3 sets of 12 reps each.
Calf lifts: 3 sets of 12 reps each.
Triceps: 1 set of tricep pushups at 10 reps, then I did weights because that was hurting my wrists today for some reason. 2 sets @ 4.5 lbs and 12 reps each.
Quads: 3 sets @34ish lbs and 12 reps each.
So tired. Why did I pick Monday for weights again? Ugh, I'm moving it to Tuesday next week.

Note to self- When you fog your house for ants, you might get a basement full of dead cockroaches as well. Yuck! Vacuuming up hundreds of cock roach corpses is not my idea of pregnant fun ;)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Okay, sorry I haven't been posting! I've been all over the place busy. I have some exercise to report, and some news;
Monday and Tuesday I worked on paving our walkway. This made me way way way sore, so I took yesterday and the day before off. It's almost done though! But I'm stuck. John's going to have to help me get unstuck.
I did 25 min. on the bike today, at 13-13.5 mph for a total of 5.7 miles covered, and it felt GREAT! So, no more nausea from the concussion, yay!
I had a dr's appt yesterday and everything's green, except one thing. We talked about my weight because I've been trying to lose TEN POUNDS, just ten!, since January, and I've lost nothing. Not lbs, not inches, nada. And I totally changed my diet! And worked out reguarly when not sick! (so, 50% of the time, granted, but it still counts! I should have lost something!) So, she started asking questions like, how are your cycles, (all over the place, the last "present" was in Feb.), how's your acne, (EXPLOSIVE), ect ect, and the bottom line is that we think I'm going through menopause maybe anyway, so I'm in the middle of some horrendous hormonal upheaval, and this is all hormonal weight gain. What does that mean? It's going to be SUPER DUPER UBER MEGA NIGH UNTO IMPOSSIBLE to lose any of it!! UUUUUAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!
My sister is helping me do weight watchers on the sly now. I'm hoping that might kick some things into gear. I don't know what else to do but not eat ever again. *sigh*

Wed. & Thurs -- Keeping Active

I'm still sore from that vigorous tub scrubbing I did on Tuesday. Holy cow, never again while pregnant!

Wednesday- Cleaning out my car (with vacuuming)- 30 minutes
Fixing a stroller- 20 minutes
Shopping with two kids- 45 minutes

Thursday- Laundry and baking cookies- 1 hour

Wed & Thur

I was feeling like a plop last night so I took the younger two kids for a walk in the stroller with the dog. We walked briskly for about an hour. It nearly killed the dog, but for me it weren't nuthin'. It ought to count for something though.

Today I ran eight with my gals. Deb and I took off fast and had to wait for Barb to catch up at around mile 3. (She had other people with her, it's not like we left her alone. The others were only doing six miles, so after three miles we waited for Barb to catch us.) I paid for my impudence though because I was dragging a bit by the time we finished.

Tuesday Scrubbing the Bathtub Workout 45 minutes

Yeah, an old enamel covered claw foot bath tub that is stinkin hard to clean.

Also- went to CVS with kids and got 4- 12 packs of Coke (heavy). Then, weeded in the garden and planted pumpkins with the hubs and the kids for 1 hour. I'm pretty sore already, I may have to do nothing tomorrow.

Monday Swimming 45 minutes

I was pretty tired today-- 15 minutes breast stroke, 10 minutes freestyle, 15 minutes back stroke, 5 minutes kick board.

Plus-- 4 loads of laundry, shopping with two kids (found a diaper bag I liked at the Good will, woot!) and sewing for an hour (making a nursing cover).

Saturday & Monday

Saturday I biked with Bruce. It wasn't a good one. My back was killing me. We stopped around 16-17 miles.

Today I ran 8 miles with my buddy Barb.

Saturday Walking 20 minutes (1 mile) Home improvement 1 hour

I just walked about a mile to get some air and stretch my legs.

Home improvement- screwing the sink to the wall and lots of caulking to finish off the sink replacement and plumbing repair project.

WOOT! Last project that I wanted to finish before the baby comes---DONE!!!! Because I rule baby!!!

Thursday Walking over an hour (2 1/2 miles)

First 30 minutes- 1 1/2 miles and then the $#@&% stroller broke! So, the next mile was a slow odyssey with a tired 4 and 6 year old who could not take breaks by riding in the stroller (it's a three wheeled stroller that I had to tip back on two wheels to limp it home). I got some sunshine though ;)

Edited to add- Vacuumed the downstairs and planted my "lettuce box"- 45 minutes total.


6 miles fast.

Plumbing Workout Part 3 -- 2 hours

Almost done. I probably won't count Part 4, since it shouldn't take too long.

I'm glad Erik and I did this project together so I could learn more, and get some help from my husband.

More and More and MORE Yardwork

1 hour yesterday and today. All my walkway needs now is pavers, and I planted flowers in pots and got other pots ready for flowers, and some other stuff. My hands are pretty brutally messed right now, though. I need to get some gloves before I put down pavers, or I might not survive.

Monday Plumbing Workout Part II 2 hours

More plumbing, this time to install a sink since I had the whole sink area upstairs exposed anyway, so might as well. Today mostly consisted of getting out the old crusty rusty sink fixture and faucet and putting in new supply lines and cut off valves (because there were not cut off valves since that would have been too logical for them to have put in shut off valves to make putting in a new sink easier).

Judging from my soreness, this workout is mostly arms, upper back, abs, and hands (ouch, sore hands).

Plumbing Workout 2 hours

I had a pipe under my bathroom sink break and start leaking excessively, so I had to fix it (instead of working out in the traditional way like I wanted to). I have to admit, I prefer the traditional workout. There was too much cursing, throwing things, and crying, to make this workout fun or feel good.

I fell off of the group run wagon. I stayed up too late to get up to run this morning. But I did put Clayton and I pushed myself pretty hard running with him in the stroller for 40 minutes.

More Yard Work

Another hour of yard work. I'm working on a project, and hopefully it will be all done by this time next week, yay! I'm totally exhausted again, but lovin' that sunshine!!
