A Couple of Days

Dude.  I keep forgetting to post.  This madness must end!!  Lol!
Wednesday, I went to swim lessons and it SUCKED.  I think I got maybe 6 or 7 laps.  The stamina was just not there.  But we did a lot of mechanical work and fine tuning, so there was much improvement.  I have a great instructor who can work with any situation. ;)
Yesterday was an hour of Zumba, and I finally completed a workout!  Geesh, it was getting ridiculous.  It was a really good class too, lots of energy, and I'm starting to get a lot more comfortable.  Some of the more common moves I'm finally getting my white girl self wrapped around so I don't look like a total idiot doing them, lol!  So, BONUS.  :D
Today I will probably be lazy.  It feels like the right thing to do, I'm still not 100%.  But tomorrow, I will KILL the running!

T put me through the ringer the last two nights. It was hard to get into this swim, but I picked things up after about 20 minutes.

Tuesday JM Banish Fat Boost Metabolism (45 minutes)

I was really proud of myself for working out today. Teague had me up ALOT from 2-6 am this morning and I did not feel good. Good thing Big E took the morning off! I forgot how hard this workout was. If you count the warm-up and cool down, it's 56 minutes. My abs and legs are going to be dying tomorrow! She basically takes all her hardest cardio and ab moves and puts them into one incredibly aerobic workout.

Weigh-In and Sucky Run

I didn't do anything on Friday because I was feeling puny.  By Friday night, I knew why: I had a stomach bug.
Logically, I didn't do anything on Saturday either. 
I was feeling better on Sunday but not great, so I didn't do anything yesterday but weigh-in.  I lost five pounds!  Not surprising, it's all down my toilet.  I'm at 127 now.  Veeeeery close to where I want to be, and I've decided that as long as I'm under 130, I'm good. 
Today, I tried to go for a run, and it was awful.  About 1/2 mile into it, I felt like I was going to puke.  I walked a little more, tried again, and had to sit on the side of the road with my head between my legs for awhile.  Bronx was very concerned when I did that.  I walked the rest of the way home, the short way, not my usual 1.5 mile loop.  I almost had to call John to pick me up, but I made it. 
I am going to take it super easy at swim lessons tomorrow.  Hopefully by Thursday I'll be up for Zumba.  My instructor is doing a new song that I recommended, and I don't want to miss it!

Monday JM 30 Day Shred Workout 1 (25 minutes)

With 10 lb free weights.

Did 7 real push ups on the first set and 4 on the second (before switching to knee push ups). Getting stronger!

Things are getting a little easier with T. He sleeps in two 3 hour chunks most nights, and then gets up every 2 hours after that (for a total of 10 hours). He also nurses less often so my boobs don't hurt anymore.

Thursday Running 35 minutes (3 miles)

I was fast, for me, despite being tired from starting up the JM workouts. Woot for running during the day again!

Wednesday and Thursday

I got home and went to bed late last night, so I didn't have a chance to post.
I did at least an hour of swimming, probably a bit more, and my instructor and I lost count of the laps after 20.  I'm going to guess between 25 and 30.  I had her all to myself as the other girl was on vacation, and she pushed me hard and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE!!
Tonight I did an hour and 10ish minutes of Zumba.  I also walked Bronx for an hour, approximately 1.5ish miles.  It was a really active day!

Monday Running 3 miles (40 minutes)

A little less than 40 minutes, but I forgot to look at my watch. I am so tired the last couple of days. The 2 month mark for babies seems to be the hardest for me. The long nights up every 2 hours nursing just seem to be getting relentless and endless at this point. I'm glad I have exercise to give me some energy.

Fun Day!

Okay, I didn't do anything yesterday.  I was busy, but really, it's mostly because I was lazy yesterday.  :P
TODAY I ran with Trent!  Yay for Trent!  He's such a sincerely encouraging person, he just makes you feel like you are the best thing ever the entire time you're running.  So, I ran my 1.5 mile loop, no walking, then we walked .7 miles, and then ran another .8 miles!  So that's a TOTAL of 2.3 miles ran today!!!  I'm totally wiped out. 
I'm so doing it again tomorrow. ;)

Friday JM 30 Day Shred Workout 1 (25 minutes)

With 10 lb free weights. Finally! and Ouch! I did better than I thought I would too. I got 7 "real" push ups total before I had to switch to the knee push ups. I can't remember the last time I worked out so hard I was still shaking 10 minutes later.

Thursday Running 37 minutes (3 miles)

I got to run today! During the day! I'm doing a babysitting exchange with a gal who lives 6 blocks down the street (and has younger kids about the same age as mine). I bought some gel insoles and they improved my time by 2 minutes total, which is awesome for me to jump time that fast. I'm a slow runner in general. 

Also- another cranky baby day! Blargh ;)

ETA- I'm hoping to do JM tomorrow as my shoulder was still twinging today! I really need to get started because everything from below my chest to my crotch feels like a giant sponge (despite losing the baby weight so quickly). I know JM will help with the "sponge" feeling.

SO. MUCH. FUN.

Oh my goodness, swim class tonight was AWESOME!!  I got there early, and my teacher did too, so she kicked some people out of a lane so we could get started, so I got about an hour and twenty minutes or thereabouts in instead of 45 minutes.  Way cool.
And I did TWELVE LAPS!!  How awesome is that?!  9 laps is 1/4 mile, which is the length of the swim in the triathlon.  Now, there were breaks, but I did 4 of those with NO breaks.  And this is also not counting all the half laps we did to practice our strokes before we did them the whole length of the pool.  VERY good workout, and next week I get our instructor all to myself!  The other lady in class is going on vacation.  I told my instructor last week that I'm training for a tri, and she just got done training someone else, so she is ALL ABOUT getting me ready.  She promised me that next week she is going to push me HARD, and I CAN'T WAIT!!

Tuesday Running 40 minutes (3 miles)

It was actually 39 minutes and THREE MILES TOTAL! Woo hoo! I got back my 3 miles and doing ok with a 13 minute mile for that long. I guess being sore for almost 3 days (after trail running Friday) paid off. 

Also- I'm HOPING to do my first strength workout tomorrow (since it has been 8 weeks as of Friday) but my shoulder is giving me trouble today from I don't know what, so we'll see.

Good Start to the Week!

First thing:
I weighed in this morning and lost 4 pounds!  Periods will do that to you, but I am super happy with the loss.  The delayed girly cycle also explains why I wasn't losing despite my best efforts, and was in fact creeping up in numbers.  I basically lost around 11 pounds in two weeks.  Being a girl is just so much FUN sometimes.  (I'll give you a minute to wipe the sarcasm off your computer)  But still, I'm 129 now, sub 130!  Booyah!
Second thing:
I did more in depth cleaning of my house.  Will I NEVER get it up to picture and show readiness?!  UGH!
Third thing:
I did 1 hour of Zumba tonight.  She had to move it from Thursday to Friday this week, and since we are spending the day with Todd and Suzanne, I can't do Friday.  So today it was!  Not as hard a workout as last Thursday, but good nonetheless.

The Rest of the Week

It has been a very busy week, and so I am just now sitting down to post. :)
Wednesday was swim lessons and it was more of a workout this time.  I did about six laps, and that doesn't count the half laps back and forth we did practicing our strokes.  It is an Olympic size pool.  There were breaks in there of course, but I'm definitely counting it.  Still a pretty light workout though.  I can't believe how far I've come!!
Thursday I did 1 hour of Zumba, and it was a really good,  hard workout!  My instructor has been stepping up her game, and this week was really awesome.  I was totally wrung out at the end, and that's just the way I like it! 
I pushed it pretty hard this week, being on my girly time and stuff, and it caught up to me on Friday.  Also, sleep has been very scanty, and I've been Majorly Stressed Out, so all of that contributed to my sitting on my bootie on Friday.
I had planned to go for a run on Saturday, but it wasn't in the cards.  I did go to the zoo with Todd and Suzanne and Trent and Ashley and walk around for a good 2-2 1/2 hours.  I'm counting that. ;)
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with myself this week.  I have NEVER been able to be that active while on my cycle.  I think I get a gold star this week. :D

Friday Trail Running 30 minutes

I ran on the hard trail because I have not been able to run it for awhile. I was afraid of falling down the scary ravine while I was pregnant. Now I can fall down whenever I want! Lol. I may not be able to walk tomorrow, it felt that hard. 

Also- deep cleaning and decorating for Q's party pretty much all day!

I did Jillian today, and also took Bronx for a 15ish minute walk.  I feel pretty wiped out, but still!  I was able to do it, whoop!

2 miles in 25 minutes, so at least I am getting faster. 1 mile walking after that.

Also- grocery shopping with my 2 year old for 30 minutes and laundry day.

Updates!

Last Friday I didn't do anything.  I felt icky all day, and then started my girly time.  Mystery solved, lol!  Didn't do anything on Saturday either. 
I weighed in this morning, but it's a new scale.  I got it almost a week ago, and weighed in as soon as I got it, and it read 140!  But this morning it was at 133, so first, I'm figuring the new scale weighs a little heavier than my last one.  Second, I was way mega bloated from being late for my girly time, and I'm a LOT deflated now, so that's where a lot of that came from.  Don't you love being a girl?  Ugh!  Lol!
Also, today I took Bronx for a 40 minute 1.5 mile walk, and I did some extremely intensive cleaning in preparation for the pics they're going to take to put the house on the market. 
It's actually a way big improvement as normally when I'm on my girly time, I'm out for a week, no exceptions.  So I'm really excited that I was able to do something as intense (relatively speaking) as a long walk on top of cleaning.  I'm hoping that's an upward trend from getting so in shape.  Fingers crossed that this is not a fluke!!

Plus, 30 minutes speed walking through wal-mart to get some shopping done.

ETA- In other weird but awesome news, I already lost all my baby weight! I've never lost it that quickly, and I was pretty surprised I was still losing the last couple weeks considering all the fast food and cadbury eggs I have been eating. Best surprise ever! I still feel super weak and flabby, but the number on the scale is helping with the post baby low self esteem.

Wednesday and Thursday

This has been such a busy week!!  I'm finding time to work out, but having a hard time remembering to post about it!
Wednesday was my first swim class!  It was TOTALLY fun!  There was only one other lady there, and she's actually on a slightly lower level than I am, which I really didn't think was possible.  It's nice, though, because we started at her level and I was able to start at absolute basics, which is what I wanted to do.  Our instructor is a super nice, really upbeat 68 year old man who is just the best instructor ever.  He made everything tons of fun, and never made us feel stupid or inadequate.  Quite the contrary, he told me I was a natural!  We learned a lot that first class, and I hope to be able to keep up that rate of progression.  He is having hip surgery this week, though, so we'll be getting a new instructor next week.  We met her, and she seems really nice too, so I'm not worried about switching.  :)
Yesterday, oh ladies, I was on FIRE!  Todd and Suzanne came over, and John and Todd wanted to go running, and they invited me!  So, this was my first Sever Family Run, lol!  We started out on my 1.5 mile loop, and they dropped me at the house and kept going.  They knew I couldn't run the whole thing, and it was cool with them.  But guess what?  I RAN THE WHOLE THING!!!!!!  I even made it up a hill I NEVER even make part of the way up because it's right in the middle of the run!  The whole 1.5 miles!!!  I am SO STOKED.  I did it in about 15 minutes.
And since Thursday is usually a Zumba night, and the run only took me 15 minutes, I went to Zumba too, lol!!  It was definitely harder, and of course tonight was my instructors hardest routine yet!  It was nineties night, which was really cool for me, but all of her new routines were killer!  It felt great though, it was awesome.  I went to bed TOTALLY wiped out, and slept like a rock.  :D
