Thursday Exercise Bike + Strength (Just Arms) 40 minutes

Exercise Bike- 30 minutes. Strength (with 10 lb free weights) 10 minutes.

Also-cleaned the house for company -1 1/2 hours

Wednesday Running 2 miles (with BIG hills) 25 minutes

I have not been able to workout due to a sinus infection, so this felt really good. I was able to keep a good pace, even though my legs were hurting.

Wednesday Running 2 3/4 mile (with BIG hills) 40 minutes

I felt slower since my feet were both hurting, but that was not a bad time for me at all. I got almost 3 miles of running too. Woot!

Also- did 20 minutes of yard work.

I was pushing two kids in a double stroller while walking.

Friday Running 2 miles (FLATS) 30 minutes

Tired. Slow. Sucked.

Also- ran around lots and lots "getting stuff done". This included trying to make a baby smile for 1/2 hour for a photo shoot. This was alone was more tiring than I thought it would be.

More Martial Arts

Last night's class w/the kids was a mixed bag. Vance did really well. We stretched. We played around w/ staffs (that plural don't sound right) doing basic blocks and strikes. (Like this for the blocks, but staying in a horse stance and no twisted stance stuff.) We worked on part of the TaeKwonDo form (I shortened it for the kids' attention span.) He did front kicks, knees and elbows to the shield.

QQ had a fit prior to class, kept it up and cried the whole time. I just let it go hoping that she would come around. She never did. She can decided on her own not to do it at 18 after that she can complain to therapist. ;) (Vance had his moment near the end because he was told that he could not have ice cream because of some early mis-deeds. That ended his attention span for the night.)

Tonight's regular class went well, we did our first three forms (they look like this, this and this). Five times for the first 2 and then 3 or somthing for the others.

After that two man hand flow drills like this w/only two hits and no takedowns. Fun stuff. (Sorry for the French rap.)

Then we practiced scissor sweeps like this and this. I like really basic Brazilian Jiujitsu mixed liberally- the only instance of liberalism I am guild of ;)- w/street fighting sneakiness. When I would come up out of the sweeps I usually had my elbow somewhere useful or a good place for a head butt. Silly willy fun fun!

Wednesday Running 2 miles (with BIG hills) 25 minutes

What is it with me and hills? I can actually feel myself speeding up (even when I get lost daydreaming) while going up the big hills.

Anyone get freaked out by dogs while they are outside exercising? I had a german sheperd sitting in his driveway who watched me run for about 1/4 mile. It was super creepy. I guess he was well trained since he just sat there the whole time and did not bark or get up (just STARED), still that was one big dog to have watch me like that.

Also- later on I hope to do more cleaning on the basement.

Tuesday Exercise Bike 30 minutes

Still tired, but chugging along. I also did three sections of two minutes each "swatting the flies" arm and chest exercise (6 minutes total) mixed in with the biking.

Also- worked on organizing the basement for 1 1/2 hours. Not as heavy duty as yesterday.

Monday Running 2 miles (FLATS) 25 minutes

Next week, I'm going to stop babying myself and kick it back up to 3 miles.

Also- carried heavy and dirty things out of my basement for 2 hours. It must have been a good workout because my whole body hurts, especially my legs from going up and down the stairs so many times. I also did a lot of bending over cleaning yucky debris off the floor of the basement.

Martial Arts front

After 2 weeks off for sickness, the kids and are were back at last night. After watching the daughter being totally entranced and imitating the "bending" moves at the end of the Avatar live action movie, I claimed than some moves are like bending ("Earth bending" in particular.) Limited success, but it was something. The boy continues to do really good front kicks.

Tonight's Kajukenbo class consisted of basics, "door openers" kicking shields (cut to 19s for the kick), hand technique flow drills on BOB (like this but I have more hair and a wee bit less of a twang) and knife defense. Yippee!

Sorry for leaving you dedicated gals all alone. Yes, I'm still around doing my thing. Yesterday I rode the horrible bike in the basement for 40 minutes. I need to get a new computer for that thing. It's a better workout when you are trying to maintain a certain speed.

Today I got up early to run with the group. I got there a little late, so I had to chase down the folks with my van. I some how missed the regular group and ended up with the super die-hards. They were running down to the track to do some speed work. Since I haven't done that for a while, I decided that it would be a really good thing. Do I need to remind you of how much a speed workout sucks?! UGH! I did pretty terrible. But a good work out, none-the-less. I ran three miles to the track and back, and I did three half mile repeats at the track. I've certainly done better, but for starters, it's not bad.

Monday Running 1 3/4 miles (FLATS) 25 minutes

This was my first workout since I have/had the flu. It was pretty rough. I had a coughing fit after about a block, and thought I was going to have to stop running right then. I pushed on and now I feel a little less like I am about to die of tired.

Also- trying to catch up on laundry today. So, you know, the kids have clothes to wear and all that fancy stuff.

Sick Again

So, last week I had some kind of nasty stomach bug. It felt a lot like morning sickness, but luckily, Erik had the same thing so I didn't panic TOO much, lol!
I'm feeling better this week, but kinda weakish, so not much on the workout front, but today I DID clean my house. Yay me, lol!
