Wednesday Swimming (30 minutes)

25 laps. Nice hard fast swim. Banged my bent left knee on the way out of the pool though, so might have delayed the healing on that knee. Overall, the left knee seems to be responding to the strengthening from the biking and the down time from running.

Wednesday Strength Workout (45 minutes)

Added hip thrusts and over head shoulder presses (not sure that's the right name?) Just alternated between squats and overhead lifts with the 60 lb bar (not putting the bar down between lifts). Also, did hip thrusts with the 60lb bar across my hips. Remembered abs. Need to find another lift to alternate with hack squats, as I forgot hack squats again.

Also- shopping for an hour.

Friday Strength Workout (45 minutes)

Kept 2 sets 5 of shoulder presses (60 lb bar) and added 2 sets of 5 hip thrusts (60 lb bar). Skipped hack squats due to right ankle issue. Hoping to add some lunges soon.

Wednesday Strength Workout (45 minutes)

Added overhead shoulder presses (with 60 lb bar) alternated with squats. Alternated hack squats with the chair dips. Skipped calf raises. Remembered abs.

8 hours later. Over side assisted pull ups, legs up (harder) push ups, squats, hack squats, chair dips, calf raises, and ab work.

Wednesday Strength Workout (20 minutes)

Did underside pull ups, push ups, dead lifts, and sumo dead lifts. Had to quit due to sinus migraine.

Did everything, including abs. Combined under pull ups, push ups, dead lifts and sumo dead lifts in one round. It was harder, but made the workout go 5 minutes or so faster. Also added some ball of my foot hops with the calf raises part of the workout per my MA instructor's advice.

Tuesday Biking (65 minutes)

Watershed trail (all paved). I got soaked to the skin for 20 minutes of the 1 hour 5 minute bike ride being pouring down rain. I felt like I was trying to open my eyes underwater during the downpour. I kept having to use my hands to wipe the water away. Biking in the rain is not nearly as much fun as running in the rain :P Still king of fun though.

On the "hard trail". Need to work on my cardio! My legs were sore from the fast reps I did yesterday, but I definitely was huffing and puffing more than I should have been.

Thursday MA Class (2 hours)

I worked with techniques on the floor for the first hour, and then mostly sparring the last 45-60 minutes or so (floor sparring, grappling, which is like wrestling). Sparring is a lot like wind sprints to me. 5 minutes high intensity, 5 minutes rest, repeat for an hour.

Remembered abs. Here's the routine as of late: 3 sets of 8 of assisted pull ups (under) with 3 sets of 10 legs up push ups. Then alternating calf raises (3 sets of 20) alternated with chair dips (3 sets of 10). 120 lb dead lifts (3 sets of 6) alternated with sumo dead lifts (3 sets of 8 same weight). 3 sets of 8 assisted pull ups (over) with 3 sets of 10 regular push ups. 60 lb bar squats 3 sets of 10 with hack squats 3 sets of 10. Then abs last to cool down (5 minutes).
